Dance and Architecture / Danza y Arquitectura — Screendance — Videodanza
Dancing on Architecture is an interdisciplinary practice at the intersection of dance and architecture — screendance and videodanza in which the human body acts as the sole measure, intersection, and activator of built space. Not dancing in architecture, but dancing with it: making visible, through movement, what space already holds but cannot say without a body to inhabit it.
Conceived and coordinated by Marc Zaragoza, Roser Tutusaus and Tom Weksler, the collective brings together architects, dancers, and filmmakers in a shared investigation: the relationship between the built environment and the kinetic body. Two performers whose bodies become the sole instrument for measuring, activating, and revealing space.
Architecture speaks to the body from outside; dance speaks to it from within. In Dancing on Architecture, the two become one sentence.
The relationship between dance and architecture is not a single thing. Dancing on Architecture unfolds it across three screendance works, each corresponding to a different scale of encounter between body and built space:
The screendance film "1: Structure" — first work in the Dancing on Architecture series — has been selected for three major international screendance and videodanza festivals in 2026:
"2: The Latent Plane" won the Concéntrico 12 prize (Logroño, Spain) in the category Identity and Fiction. An urban fiction in which everyday walking becomes collective identity — the body as the absolute measure of public architecture.
Dancing on Architecture is an investigation developed from Barcelona by three complementary practices: architecture, dance and image.
Marc Zaragoza — architect, coordinator. m-i-r-a arquitectura
Roser Tutusaus — choreography, performance. Poética Beligerante
Tom Weksler — choreography, performance. Wonderground
Ignasi Castañé — image and photography
